How do I check if my phone has eSIM?

Three checks you can do right now, on the phone itself. Each takes under a minute.

  1. Dial *#06#

    *#06#

Open your Phone app and dial *#06#. If you see an EID (a 32-digit number), your phone has eSIM.

No EID? Some Android phones only show it in Settings > About phone.

  2. Look in Settings

    iPhone

Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Service). Look for Add eSIM.

    Samsung

Settings > Connections > SIM manager. Look for Add eSIM.

    Pixel

Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add SIM.

    Other Android

Open Settings and search for eSIM or EID. Menus differ by maker, but it is usually under SIM or mobile networks.

  3. Make sure it's unlocked

Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. Phones bought on a carrier plan can be locked, and only your carrier can unlock them.

On iPhone: Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock should say "No SIM restrictions".
